The International Trade Administration Commission (ITAC) has retained the anti-dumping duty on gypsum plasterboard imported from Indonesia at 34.6%. The impacted products are classified under tariff subheading 6809.11.
The anti-dumping duty is an outcome of a sunset review investigation initiated in July 2019. Saint-Gobain Construction Products is the largest domestic producer of the product and made the application.
An anti-dumping duty remains in place for 5 years. Before the 5 year period end, the local industry submits an application showing that expiry of the duties will likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping and material injury.
Sunset review investigations typically result in three possibilities; the duty retained at the current level, increased to a new level, or terminated if evidence does not support the recurrence of dumping and material injury.
